M. Dumont, A.A. Dutto (2013). The architect as producer: Ugo La Pietra and the theory of unbalancing system. trans magazin (Fachmagazin des Architekturdepartements der ETH Zürich), 22, 154-160 | See more
This essay focuses on Ugo La Pietra, an architect and pioneer of radical design that diverges from Superstudio and Archizoom. With his "Theory of unbalanced systems" (1969) he proposes a new model of experiencing urban spaces. By featuring a marked interaction with the audience and widely employ technology, La Pietra seemingly addresses Walter Benjamin’s idea of the “Author as producer”.
