This essay focuses on Ugo La Pietra, an architect and pioneer of radical design that diverges from Superstudio and Archizoom. With his "Theory of unbalanced systems" (1969) he proposes a new model of experiencing urban spaces. By featuring a marked interaction with the audience, La Pietra seemingly addresses Walter Benjamin’s concept of the “author as producer”.
