The decorated diagram is a habitually acknowledged as a bad way of making architecture. This essay proposes to interpret the decorated diagram as a device for the management of bodies without the status of subjects. Decorated diagrams are therefore: slaughterhouses, prisons, and, in a broader sense, the contemporary metropolis.
